A summer festival event will be held at the Kawabata Shopping Arcade!Sake wine sampling, markets, booths, stage performances by students, and many more fun events are planned! Enjoy strolling around Hakata Old Town dressed in yukata and the summer festival!
Festival visitors will be provided with free sake wine samples!
In addition, the first 100 visitors will receive an original Hakata Old Town masu (square wooden cup)! Kagamibiraki experience corner is also available!

A market will be held in collaboration with FURIFURU, an organization that purchases from producers and sells vegetables that cannot be sold at markets due to their being a nonstandard size, shape, or color, or in order to maintain market prices (mottainai vegetables)!

Enjoy musical performances by school groups and musical/dance performances!
Here visitors can experience traditional Japanese culture by trying their hand as furoshiki tsutsumi (tying traditional wrapping cloths) or origami paper folding.

The Hamao Taiko Japanese Drum Club derives its name from an area in Kashii. Our drum club is proud of the Japanese legends surrounding the Kashii area and carry out our activities enthusiastically with a sense of the romance of these legends. Established 35 years ago, ESP Entertainment is a professional training college for musicians/dancers/actors as well as sound, lighting, and other staff employed in the entertainment industry. Beginning with the Fukuoka Campus, the school has four campuses in Japan and three higher education institutions in the United States and has produced countless artists, performers, and technicians in both Japan and the United States.

Our high school was established 125 years ago as the former girls’ high school in chuo-ku. Although our club members only begin playing the koto in high school, we enjoy our club activities and even received third place (Excellence Award) in the Japanese Music Division of the prefectural music competition. We would be happy if you were able to sense the traditional serene timber of the koto.
